Masari commission first community NOUN Centre

The Katsina State Governor, Rt. Hon Aminu Bello Masari had on Monday commissioned the first Community Study Centre of the National Open University, at Masari,  the  hometown of the Governor in Kafur Local Government Area of the State.

Press Headlines noted that this is the first time a state government ever built and inaugurated a community NOUN study Centre ever since its inception by the Federal Government to address way of higher education.

 The Special Adviser on Higher Education to the Katsina State Governor, Malam Bashir Usman Ruwan Godiya while addressing the public highlighted that the Masari's giant strides in education had proved positive in so many areas. Added that the State Government had constructed and equipped  the community Noun study centre with 100 computers which are fully connected with the internet, 200KVA transformer, 100KVA generator, one branded new Toyota Hilux  which serves as a utility vehicle, a library, laboratory, administrative block and lecture halls.

The Vice Chancellor of the University, Professor Abdallah Uba Adamu in his remark attested to the fact the centre is the first of its kind in the entire Northern Nigeria, adding that "there is no centre in Nigeria as equipped as the Masari Community Study Centre".

Abdallah commended the Governor's stride in education and call on the people of the State and the country at large to enroll and benefit from the centre as the University offers all courses any other University offers and that the quality of their Degrees equates those of Harvard, ABU, BUK, UDUTH, etc

 Governor Masari in his remarks, briefed about the state his administration met education and the current success.

Rt.Hon. Aminu Bello Masari further assured the University of his administration continued support and ensure the sustainability of the centre.

Masari further directed the Commissioner for Local Government to make sure all the leadership of the 11 LGAs in the zone sponsors minimum of 10 students. He also agitate for same by all the legislatures from the zone.

Press Headlines  also learnt that the land where the centre was constructed is a personal property of the State Governor which he freely offered.

In spite of political differences, the presidency is happy with the good relationship with the National Assembly. Kano travelers cries out

Some travelers  at the Mallam Aminu Kano international airport has lamented their distaste over the barbarous blustering by the security operatives at the Mallam Aminu Kano  domestic departure gate. Some passengers on Sunday morning at about 6:30 at the domestic departure gate told Press  headlines  correspondent that they were harassed, strained, bullied and intimidated by the security operatives at the Aminu Kano international airport domestic departure gate. An eyewitness also told journalists that the security operatives denied some passengers access with their luggage. Press headlines however learnt that the security operatives at the departure gate has been harassing and intimidating passengers for quite a long time now.
