Gov lalong pays condolence visit to BURATAI
Governor of Plateau State Simon Lalong Monday paid a condolence visit to Chief of Army Staff, Lt Gen Tukur Buratai at the Army Headquarters in Abuja over the death of Maj Gen Idris Alkali. Alkali, who recently retired from the army had left Abuja on 3 September. His destination was Bauchi. He never reached there as as he was captured in Dura-Du, a community in Jos South local government of Plateau state, killed and his remains later thrown into an abandoned well. The army had declared him missing and intelligence tips had made a search and rescue team to focus on a mining pond in Dura-Du. After days of draining the pond, Alkali’s car and other personal effects were recovered, along with three other vehicles and a bus. But his body was not found there, making the military to step up investigation.
